SUMBA was back to semester with a bang last Thursday. We welcomed both new and old members back to semester with some fresh music. Over the rehearsal we learnt the opening of Beyoncé’s Coachella performance (which features a marching band). After spending some time memorising this we headed into the great outdoors.

We started in the Graffiti tunnel allowing us to get some edgy promotional photos and finished on the footbridge over Parramatta Road. Up on the bridge SUMBA performed our latest piece to the passing cars.

After our rehearsal we headed into the serious business of electing our next musical director. The election was fought tooth and nail, but Ben Mead eventually prevailed.

Congratulations Ben! This was cause for celebration and Sacha’s pizzas came right on time to fill the bellies of the SUMBA members.

Looking forward to next week already for another cracker.
