SUMBA is excited to announce that we will be playing at the opening game of the 2018/2019 WNBL season! The WNBL (Women’s National Basketball League) is Australia’s pre-eminent professional women’s basketball league, and SUMBA is very enthusiastic to be supporting professional women’s sport in Australia. We will be cheering for the Sydney Uni Flames as they go up against the University of Canberra Capitals in what’s sure to be a great match. The match will be at 7pm the 12th of October at Bryden’s Stadium, the home of the Sydney Uni Flames. We’re hoping to see as many of our basketball-loving SUMBA fans there as we can for what’s bound to be a fun Friday night!

SUMBA will be playing some new repertoire that we’ve been working hard on over the past few weeks of rehearsals. Get ready to jam out to some Beyonce – we’re sure you’ll have as much fun listening to it as we’ve had playing it. Of course, Beyonce isn’t the only incentive for us to go to our weekly Thursday rehearsals – we’re also big fans of the free pizza that always arrives at six o’clock. Again, everyone and anyone, provided that they’re an ACCESS card holder, is free to rock up to SUMBA and join our weekly jam sessions (and pizza feasts). Bring your instrument along and we’ll have a part for you, otherwise just bring yourself and we’ll find you some percussion so you can join in!
